I honestly had no idea what I was going to tease you with. I feel like I've bored you all senseless with same old same old lately.
So instead of risking total alienation, I give you this...
God almighty, whatever had she
been drinking?
Hold on… Andie tried to gather
her scattered wits. The last thing she remembered was wanting a glass of water
or something. But surely that wouldn’t mean her mouth tasted like the floor of
a budgie cage? Not that she’d ever licked one, but it was the most apt
description Andie could think of. Hell, she ached and she was thirsty. Water, for the love of god, I need water.
Okay, get up and get on with it.
She tried to roll to one side
and a rock stopped her.
A
rock? I don’t have rocks indoors, just in the rockery. That almost made her
snigger. Almost. What on earth had happened to her bed? Her soft mattress
topper and feather pillows? Why was she sleeping on the ground? She didn’t do
camping. Not since she’d taken part in an overnight hike for her Duke of
Edinburgh award badge and been bitten all over her bum to hell and back by
midges, when she’d slid out of the tent to go for a pee.
Her bladder told her it was
pee time again. Like now.
Oh
god what if I am outside and there’s midges? Not in December surely? There was nothing for it. To
go to the loo was imperative or she’d wet herself. Andie counted to three and
tried to sit up.
She couldn’t. Her hands were
tied behind her back and her ankles caught together. Andie jerked them around
experimentally. About two inches of give in her hands, an inch or so more
between her ankles.
What
the? Her head
thumped in time to her heartbeat. Too fast and too loudly. Oh god, am I dead and this is retribution for some long forgotten
misdeed? Open your eyes, eejit. Look around, then if I can’t see, panic.
Okay,
I can do it. One, two…
She opened her eyes and squinted in the semi-darkness. She was alive, even if
she had no idea where. Definitely not
outside, because she could see the faint outline of a window high up in what
she guessed was a wall. A barred window. “What the hell?”
“Yeah, what the fucking…” The
voice was deep, husky and sadly well known.
Oh
god I am dead and it is bloody retribution. Why else would I be imagining him?
Or I’m in a nightmare. That book I read the other night was all too real.
They’ve come to take me away. She began to wriggle harder, desperate to find out why she
couldn’t move. That bloody rock. Her
ass was hard up against it and… shit! Now she was dreaming of cock-shaped
rocks. That was so not fair.
