#SundaySnippet where I (or my heroine) ramble a bit

Hi all and welcome to this week's #SundaySnippet

I've had one of those up and down weeks which culminated in my deleting around 8k from my WIP. I might manage to savage around 1,000 words but sadly that will be it. Ah well, it had to be done and I'm a lot happier with it now.

My heroine isn't so happy though...

The trouble with telling yourself you're all fine with the situation and you can cope, is that you don't always believe it.
Iona muttered and mumbled and eventually gave up trying to read. She put on her trackies over Bugs (Her Bugs Bunny pj's—R) shoved her feet into her wellies—it was still damp, and after covering up in a waterproof headed for the track around the campsite.
Tess might call it an exercise track. Iona hoped if she trudged around it long enough, it could be called a 'make you so weary you'll sleep and not think of ways to castrate your ex,' track.

Poor Iona...

Happy reading,

#SundaySnippet—where Iona confronts her now ex-best mate.

It's Sunday again, and time for my, yes, you've guessed it #SundaySnippet.

This week, It's from a new WIP, and as yet, it hasn't told me if it is a Raven book, or a Katy Lilley—my softer sweeter side. All I can say is I'm having so much fun writing it.

Iona returns home early to find her best mate—from that moment on her ex-best mate in bed with Iona's husband.

later on she mets the mate to confront her...

So, here's your seven sentences...oops I've counted wrongly—it's er.... needed?

“A bit of a dominant sort then?”
Susie rolled her eyes. “You better believe it, I’ve spent all afternoon pleasing him.”
Well you spent half the afternoon pleasing someone in any case, though unless you’ve changed jobs lately it wasn’t your boss. Iona took a deep breath. “Funny how I’ve never seen him like that.”
“What...who...what do you mean?” Susie asked as she opened her eyes wide.

“The man you spent the afternoon with...in my bed...my husband. Why do you need to screw him when you’ve got a husband of your own?”

I'll let you know how this goes... At the moment, I'm doing as they tell me and writing the thing. I have my own ideas of course, but that doesn't mean they will happen.

Happy reading,
have a great Sunday

#MidWeekTease from a new Death Isle story, by Kera Faire

This week's #MidWeekTease is from the next Death Isle book by Kera Faire. (my dark side)

What do you think?

(It is word vomit)

"Do you miss it?" Astrid asked as she and Darke leant on the empty pig sty and gazed out across the loch.
The December day was drawing to a close, the sky full of snow, and the air scented with that indefinable smell of winter. Most of the trees that once shielded the buildings had been chopped down the rest denuded of leaves. It was both desolate and beautiful.
A heron flew over, the sound of its wings loud in the stillness.
Astrid shivered as she looked up at her silent husband.
"You know, the adrenaline, the danger, the knowledge you were doing something positive to make out country a better place for our kids to grow up?"
Darke stirred, turned to lean his back on the wall of the pen and pulled her toward him.
"Yes and no. I find it somewhat alarming that to all intents and purposes it's deemed the Dispatchers aren't necessary. Perturbed that this new government seems to think everything in the world is hunky dory, and they don't need people like us." He sighed and kissed his wife's nose. "If I felt the same, I'd turn my back on it all, take you and the kids ad emigrate to n island in the south pacific and lotus eat for the rest of our lives."
"You'd be bored rigid within a week," Astrid said shrewdly.
Darke laughed. "Oh so true my love.' He sobered and stared down at his wife. "Between us? I have that itch. The one that tells me to be alert, that something is going to go down before long." He stood silent for a moment. "I think we need to get everyone together, see what we can find out, and be aware."

#MidWekTease, where Jess wonders why she is so apprehensive

It's that time again...

Hi all, here's this week's #MidWeekTease

The other day, I drove past the ruined castle I used (when I'd rebuilt it of course) for the Diomhair, series. So I thought I'd tease with a bit from Secrets Remembered, the first book.

Diomhair—what happens there, stays there.

and your tease...

(Kath has decided Jess will go to Diomhair, just to see what it's like. She's not so keen)

The cab wasn’t what she’d call a cab. It was a black limo with the rear windows dark. Standing by the door and holding it open was the most drop-dead hunk of a guy she’d seen in a long while. Her clit went into overdrive and sent

messages pulsing through her body, and her juices out of her pussy to soak her knickers. If he was a chauffeur, his uniform was unusual to say the least. Indigo blue denims and a black silk shirt fit as if they had been sprayed onto him and there was a black leather jacket thrown carelessly on the seat next to him.
He stared at her with dark almost-black eyes, his face blank. All of a sudden, the arousal Jess had felt dried up faster than an oasis in the midst of a desert summer. She shook,
not with arousal, but with worry. Something about him, and the way he watched her so closely, spelled trouble.
It seemed Kath had no such qualms as she waved to him as they approached the car. Jess had no chance to hang back because Kath held her as tight as a limpet clung to a rock.
“Thank you, Ma—David. This is Jessica.”
Jess had no time to wonder what her companion had been going to say before the man bowed and smiled.
“Jessica, welcome.”
She didn’t think so. His voice rumbled through her, and set off a minor earthquake in her clit. She didn’t welcome it. Cocoa, a good book and her yellow duck jammies had never seemed more of a good idea than then.

You can buy this and all the other Diomhair books from all leading  retailers both as an eBook and a paperback.

#midWeekTease with a guy who might just be ready, willing and more than able...

Hi all, welcome to #MidWeekTease

I'm waiting for edits on my next Naught Forties book, so I thought I'd give you a wee tease from the first one, Darling Doc.

(I just love that cover...created by the fantastic Jay Aheer)

blurb...
This stuff only happens in romance novels….
After a chance meeting on a crowded tram, Sandy has cause to re-evaluate several things.
1, It is perfectly possible to lust after a stranger.
2, It isn’t only fictional heroines who need to carry spare panties.
3, A man’s voice really can almost make you climax in public.
4, Great sex does exist.
5, Being a doctor can complicate things.

When her chance encounter turns up in her surgery, there is only one thing for it. Grab said hunk and the sex on offer with both hands and don’t let go. Alistair isn’t a patient after all… and what two consenting adults get up to in their spare time can’t be love, or can it?

and your #MidWeekTease

He moved.
Moved away.
You know that sense of disappointment you get when

someone shows you what you crave and then snatches it way before you even get a taste or a touch? That hit me like a ton of bricks, and I stiffened, amazed how swiftly it washed through me.
“Condom,” Alistair said in a husky voice. “Before I forget and get carried away with my need to be in you.”
“Shall I?”
He shook his head. “I daren’t let you. I’d come at first touch. Next time, and the time after, and...” He twisted to pick up the packet, and then I saw it.
On his ass. A tiny tattoo. Of a demon.
Oh my, yes.
Did I moan? Probably. He tore open the wrapping with a rustle.
“Ready?”
More than.
“Oh yes.”
I had no idea that watching a man protect us could be such a sodding turn-on. He stroked the prophylactic down his length and looked at me.
“Darling doc, I can’t promise anything but a short, hard fucking this time. I’ve dreamed about loving you and making you mine. The kink is such an amazing bonus. I’m humbled to find you desire me that way, as I do you. But as I hope to be your Sir, I also yearn to fill you and watch your face as you come now. Licking every salty, aroused inch of you.”

You'll have to wait and see but...

your #MidWeekTease

(Struan has moved to Devon and is trying to get on with his life)

Struan scrubbed his paddle board and stared at the rain streaming down the window of his shed aka summer house. Flaming June was now raining July, and it was miserable. Esther had been gone for two weeks, and he missed her. They’d spoken on the phone, texted and face timed, but it wasn’t the same. He wasn’t sleeping well, his slumber broken by dreams of what had been and what could be...or not. Leopards, the Armin stone, his betrayal of all he should hold dear and that final denouement.
Sometimes he swore he could hear the Grey Side, mocking him for not standing by what lies they had fed him. That he ignored. The dreams of Shalea, of what it meant, of how he’d tried to destroy it and how he changed his life around were not so easy to ignore.
He painted his kitchen, took his turn locking up the tunnel, and went for ever longer runs.
Every day he could swear he saw a leopard. Under the bridge, in the tunnel, even swimming up the river. The hallucinations were so clear, so lifelike, that Struan thought if he was able to touch one, he’d feel warm fur and a heartbeat.
And every day, the conviction that something momentous was about to happen got stronger.
What he had no idea, where, or when, ditto, but it put him on edge. He hadn’t been so unsure of himself, of who he was, and what might be able to happen since those dreadful days when he’d been banished, and found himself unable to shift, project or be part of what had been his life since birth.
When he found he’d painted the same door panel for the third time, Struan decided enough was enough. He washed the paintbrush, tidied everything away and went out in the rain. To scrub his paddle board and give himself a strong talking to. He couldn’t carry on like this. He either had to wallow or wake up and do something about whatever was going on.
Wallowing was not in his make up. So...Struan put his now shining paddle board on the shelf and stood up and stretched. Time to be proactive.
As if it was a sign, the rain stopped and a rainbow arched over the estuary mouth. The sight took his breath away. It was clearer than he’d ever seen before, a full arc of glorious colors. Beneath it, the water sparkled, and the ferry chugged across, the river, its flags fluttering gently in the now soft breeze, and sending Struan a message.
‘We need you.’

The first books of The Shalean Moon by my YA-hatted persona J. Lilley, are available from Opal Moon Press on Amazon

#SexySnippets. Where Jess discovers a man who is in charge...

Hi all, welcome to #SexySnippets. I woke up this morning with this snippet going round in my head. So of course I have to share it, and now I want to revisit Diomhair.

Standing by the door and holding it open was the most drop-dead hunk of a guy she’d seen in a long while. Her clit went into overdrive and sent messages pulsing through her body, and her juices out of her pussy to soak her knickers. If he was a chauffeur, his uniform was unusual to say the least. Indigo blue denims and a black silk shirt fit as if they had been sprayed on and there was a black leather jacket thrown carelessly on the seat next to him.

He stared at her with dark almost-black eyes, his face blank.
All of a sudden, the arousal Jess had felt dried up faster than an oasis in the midst of a desert summer. and she shook, not with arousal, but with worry. Something about him, and the way he watched her so closely, spelled trouble.
"Jessica, welcome."
