Why on earth her bras were in the dining room sideboard, she hadn’t got a clue, and as for her clean undies? 

Apart from the one to wear and one for a spare she carried with her in the small bag—all she had space for in her car on her journey south—Bryony had no idea what she had done with the rest. 

Did that mean she’d find them along with the cutlery in the bathroom and her shoes in the garage? It wouldn’t surprise her in the least. 

She’d been so concerned with washing—and disinfecting—walls and floors, sweeping out cockroaches and any dead spiders she’d missed—surely it hadn’t been that bad when she made her previous visit—that even a couple of weeks later, putting things where she would find them, and food shopping, was low on her list of priorities. 

Clean sheets, a shower that was mould free, and a loo that no longer looked as if it hadn’t been flushed for the last decade hit the top of that list. Okay the loo wasn’t to her taste—the inside was decorated with leaves and flowers that were enough to make you wonder if a bee would pop out and bite you on the bum—but it sparkled, and due to copious amounts of room spray smelled nicely of lavender.

#SexySnippets...where an unusual welcome takes place...

Hi all, and welcome to this week's #SexySnippets.

It's more than chilly where I live. So I've amused myself by reading books set in the summer. Then I did a quick go through of my first ever chick lit, which will be out in May. I'm allover excited about it. It's written as Katy Lilley, Raven's softer, sweeter side.
I'm due a cover soon, and so looking forward to it. In face every last thing about this story, The Pop-up Bookshop on the Cliffs (A Cliff Cottage story) is exciting. 
And scary. It's a whole new ballgame.

Anyway...as it's set in sunny Devon, I thought I'd do my #SexySnippets from that.

When Bryony comes into money, the first thing she does is move to Devon, along with her escapologist dog and two lazy cats.

Where on her first day, she encounters Mr Grumpy.

She is inveigled into running a pop-up bookshop, and hosting a talk by the mysterious erotic thriller author, Mandi with an ‘i’ Rook.

Mandi isn’t the only mystery around Little Brandish.

After all, Bryony has a lot of money, she’d not spoken about, Dario has secrets he hasn’t shared, and what with their growing attraction, it’s got to be a recipe for disaster.

The sky was blue, not a cloud in sight—the perfect postcard picture. She blocked out thoughts of long winter nights, frozen pipes and no doubt chilblains if people still got them; and grabbed the door key from the glove compartment. With a sigh of pleasure—she’d arrived and it was time to start the next part of her life properly—Bryony stepped out of the car, stretched, bent over to touch her toes… and screamed. Something cold and damp had goosed her.

‘What the…?’  Bryony straightened faster than she’d ever done before, swung around and glared at her assailant. Her plait missed said assailant by scant inches, which was just as well—he’d probably have bitten it in half.

The dog grinned—bared its teeth, which gave her a good indication of which end was which—and barked.
