Just because I'm on the naughty list...
There's naughty and there's naughty. Which one am I?
Thinking of it, I do make lists. Lots of them, I'm a real make a list and often lose it sort of person. A list for the grocery shopping.. and if DH is to go to the supermarket, it's explicit. Sadly not naughty though unless you count only non bio for the washing powder, and check for gluten as risque.
Then there's the holiday lists...one for clothes, one for accessories such as sun cream, books, books make up, books and well books. Nothing dirty there, unless you count the clothes that come home.
Aha oops, then there's the check on google list... that sort of..okay does...fit the bill. If anyone got hold of my to do list re google they'd definitely say I was on the naughty list. Or it was my naughty list. The last five things were... bondage ropes, cock ring, recipe for salsa (?), Regency nipple clamps and erotic foods...
So I think I'm allowed on the blog hop don't you?
here's a wee teaser...
from Deck Mac Hall... a nice hot little number...
“Holly, you do not answer a question with a question.”
She braced herself for more punishment. Instead he began to stroke and sooth her chastised buttocks. Then the pleasure started. Her perception changed as warmth encompassed her body. It spread in waves, one after another, like a soothing bath. Or the softness of a cozy angora blanket. She was pampered, loved, and cherished. She moaned in appreciation.
God, I love this. If he ever gets around to actually putting his cock into me, anywhere, I might just spontaneously combust.
“Sorry, Sir. Yes, Sir, I’m sorry, Sir.” Shit, all this being humble stuff better be worth it.
It seemed Mac knew her as well as she knew herself. One very juice increasing spank later, she found herself once more on her back.
“I’ll have to think of something different to chastise you, Holly. You like those taps much too much. Do you even realize how fucking arousing those moans and wriggles you make are?”
Holly looked at him in bemusement. What moans and wriggles? As far as she was aware, she just gritted her teeth.
Mac shook his head in amazement. “You don’t even know your doing it, do you? Every time my hand touches you, you writhe and make a cum-inducing fuck-me-now noise. As much as I want to oblige, I need to tell you a few things first.” He paused. “Where was I? Ah yes. Spanking you years ago.” He bent his head and sucked hard on one tight nipple. The other one stood up as well, protesting about his neglect. Mac gave it similar attention and rubbed his hand up her thigh.
“Wet,” he said in satisfaction. “Wet and wanting. I love it.”
Holly decided he didn’t expect a reply. In truth it would have been difficult. Her body was on fire, and she had to concentrate all her attention on not coming. It would take very little to push her over the edge.
So... do I have your interest? you see...I do have a nice hot book out from BP...or two ...or three, so to celebrate being naughty, I'm offering an ebook from my back list if you follow my blog and comment.
Just tell me what naughty thing you like at Christmas...as long as it's legal...

Krystal Brooks nipped in, with some black bun and a dram and some interesting words...
Who wouldn't want a Highland Hogmanay...
The problem with growing up in Scotland is that you become very cynical at a young age. We all see that Christmas is not like it appears on the TV. My mother has never brought the turkey to the table so my dad could smile lovingly at us all while he carves the bird. My mum used to hack the poor thing into bits, dump it on cold plates and serve it up with lumpy gravy and instant mashed potatoes.
I still have the memory of my cousin clobbering my poor brother over the head with a great big toy Dukes of Hazzard car because they were fighting over whose turn it was next. I also remember my sister (at the age of about 20) spending Christmas day with her head down the toilet as she had drunk too much gin on Christmas eve.
That's not to say we didn't have good Christmases. We did. They just were not like they are on the TV. Nor are they like the song “Christmas Alphabet.” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bt-GWG99m50
So I decided to create my own Scottish Cynics Christmas Alphabet. It doesn't scan with the song I'm afraid.
C is for cake. If your Christmas fruitcake doesn't have enough alcohol in it to push you over the legal drink-driving limit with one small slice, then you're doing it wrong. (Don't eat Christmas cake and drive)
H is for holidays. As a teacher I have been dreaming of these holidays for weeks. Unfortunately the rest and recuperation will be spoiled by the necessity to be cheerful and festive.
R is for repeats. That's all they show on TV over the festive season. Repeats of old Christmas specials. Remember to buy a decent boxed set of your favourite TV programme to see you through.
I is for ice. It's cold out there and it's busy in A and E (you probably call it the ER). You don't want a broken limb, so watch out.
S is for shops. They are overcrowded and everyone buys three weeks supply of groceries at the supermarket. They seem to think a world-wide famine is on the way whereas, in reality, the shops are only closed for about 36 hours.
T is for the tree. Fake ones only ever look fake and real ones probably kill your cat. I blame Prince Albert. He seems to be responsible for Christmas trees, cards and questionable male piercings. Queen Victoria seems to have had a lucky escape.
M is for money. Let's be honest... you'd probably prefer someone to put a nice crisp note in a card instead of buying you that garish sweater. Then you could go and buy a bottle of Vodka instead.
A is for Aunt Martha. Everyone has that elderly relative who tells you that you look like your dad, asks you if you have a proper job yet and inquires into your romantic life as if it is any of their business. Tell her you're a member of a free love commune, have joined the circus and that you found out that your real dad is the milkman. That should have her choking on her sweet sherry.
S is for skint. A British word meaning broke (poor). That's what Christmas does to us. But it also is for Smile. When I see the face of my 7 year old niece, I know it will be worth it. And it means sleep. Every year I promise that I'll just sleep through the festivities. But come November, I'll be first in line to start organising for the big day.
But after all the fuss, we'll have about five days to regroup in time for Hogmanay. Why not sit down with a good book. A nice Scottish romance which will keep your temperature up (think of the lower gas bills).
Here's the blurb:
The week between Christmas and New Year is always dreary, and for Isla, single mum of two small children, it's doubly so. A toddler throwing a tantrum and an over-inquisitive four-year-old are stressing her out. The broken shopping bag spilling her groceries out in the wet street is the final straw. But handsome Mark Ferguson turns up out of the blue to help her.
The New Year may be looking up, until she finds out that Mark owns one of the biggest computing firms in the USA. Can they make a long distance relationship work and can Mark stop trying to make their relationship into a business venture?
This is a surprisingly unsmutty excerpt... but I thought you'd like it because it's Christmas :)
““Come on, girls, let’s make this snow into the best snowman ever.” They hurried outside and Isla watched from the kitchen window as Mark organised Jenna and Amber to make the different parts of the snowman from rolled snowballs. She fished into the vegetable bag and removed a decent-sized carrot for a nose and a couple of small potatoes for eyes. Hopefully they could find small stones in the garden to make the mouth.
When she opened the door to take out the vegetables, she was shocked to find Mark lying on his back as Jenna and Amber lobbed handfuls of snow at him.
“Hey, what’s going on?” she shouted as Mark bellowed with laughter.
“It’s my own fault,” he explained between chuckles. I threw snowballs at them first.” She handed Jenna the potatoes.
“Two eyes for your snowman.” Then she held the carrot up to her nose. “See, Amber? That’s the snowman’s nose. You hold that.” Amber grabbed it and looked at the snowman, clearly unconvinced. But she ambled over to watch her big sister press the potatoes into the snowman’s face, albeit a little squint.
Isla put her hand down to help Mark up and saw too late the gleam in his eye. He tightened his grip and pulled against her. His strength and her surprise allowed him to easily pull her down on top of him and then roll over so she was lying on the wet snow.
“If we didn’t have an audience, there are lots of extremely dirty things I’d like to do to you,” he whispered in her ear. Then he planted a chaste kiss on her lips. She could tell he was about to let her up when Jenna and Amber came rushing over. Amber fell on the snow but picked herself up without a murmur and followed her sister. The children piled on top of the adults and everyone screamed as more handfuls of snow were thrown around. After a few minutes, the girls became bored and Amber wandered off to find the abandoned carrot.”

Could Tilly's day
get any worse? Even Christmas had been cancelled! Will Dean succumb to temptation
as he endeavors to make Christmas better for both of them?
Matilda 'Tilly' Carter didn't think
her day could get any worse, but even Christmas had just been cancelled.
The one girl Dean Watson has sworn never to have—never even expected to see again—just flared back into his life and into his home—his sanctuary—like she belonged there. Christmas would certainly be more bearable with Tilly around though…
As the chinks in Dean's armor appear, Tilly seizes the chance to win her knight once and for all. She's not about to take no for answer—not this time—but Dean must resist, even as his heart rebels and temptation threatens to undermine his resolve.
Win or lose? Love or honor? Which will Dean choose? Assuming he gets a choice…

Excerpt
Tears
welled in her eyes, clouding her vision. She turned and wandered blindly toward
the exit as the first tear escaped, forging a track down her cheek for the rest
to follow. Tilly took in a lungful of air and then another. Having made a
spectacle of herself once already, she really didn't want to be the cause of
yet another scene.
The crowds
swarmed around her, with students and family members heading home for the
holidays only adding to the usual rush-hour melee of commuters. They jostled
past, threatening to swallow her whole, as they rushed en mass in the opposite
direction, using their briefcases and suitcases as a battering ram.
It was
suffocating. She had to get out of there. Breaking into a run, broken heel or
not, she raced through the doors and out into the biting December chill. Her
waterlogged eyes struggled to adjust to the dark, dreary sky after the bright
station lights, but she didn't dare slow down, desperate to escape the throng
of festivities and merriment.
Carol
singers assembled outside burst into a jovial rendition of "We Wish You a
Merry Christmas," full of joy and happiness. Didn't they know Christmas
had just been cancelled?
"Ooof!"
Tilly smacked her shin against the edge of a low bench, too dark to see as she
tried to dodge the growing audience. She ended up sprawled across the bench,
dropping the handle of her suitcase with a loud clatter.
At least
the pain shooting down her leg gave her an excuse to be crying. Unfortunately,
it meant she had to stop running too. Not good. Whenever things got too tough,
too intimate, or too confrontational, you could rely on her to make a run for
it. Running away was what she did best...
A tall
figure loomed in the edge of her vision, something vaguely familiar about the
man's loping gait. In an effort to see him more clearly, she wiped her eyes
with the back of her hands, then cringed inwardly at the black streaks now
etched all over them. Great. She could add impersonating a panda to her day
from hell as well then.
The
mascara stung her eyes, rendering her unable to focus properly. She blinked
furiously as the man strode past her, talking into a mobile phone in a deep
voice that resonated throughout her body and made the fine hairs on the back of
her neck stand on end. A surge of adrenaline rushed to her legs, numbing the
pain as her subconscious told her to run. Now!
The
cloaked figure stopped mid-stride as if he'd heard her gasp. "Mike, I've
gotta go," he barked into the phone, hanging up instantly. He backtracked
until he was standing right in front of her, his tone changing from a growl to
one of surprise. "Basmati?"
Great. She
hadn't heard the nickname for years—nine years, four months and...sixteen days,
to be exact—and even then, only one person had ever actually used it. She
screwed her eyes tightly shut, shaking her head from side to side. No. No way.
There was absolutely no way this could be happening to her. Not now. Not today
of all days... Talk about kicking a girl when she was down.

Annie Seaton on readin' writin' and 'rithmetic... and a giveway
Welcone Annie, to a damp dreich Scotland. Grab a chair, pick a dram and lets chat...
Posting a blog on a UK author’s site made me consider t the differences
in readership in different countries. And how we cater for the needs of our
readers?
The phenomena of globalisation and digital technologies have seen a
massive change in mind sets of readers and writers. The market is now global, however
an analysis of book sales shows different markets for different books in
English speaking countries. Here, I am talking predominantly about the Untied
States, United Kingdom and Australia...the three markets I know...having turned
into an OCD statistics checker since Holiday Affair was released in March this
year.
It is interesting...despite the trope, an author is supported predominantly
by readers in the country in which they reside and write.
Is it a cultural thing? In the days of globalisation and online buying
through an international digital bookstore what is the key to selling across
countries?
I did some research on popular tropes in different countries with no
real data coming to light,
So how does an author become successful across different markets in this
day and age?
Some tips for creating a brand globally

Annie Seaton lives on the beautiful east coast of
Australia, where she loves sitting in her writing chair, gazing at the ocean
and writing stories. She has always been fascinated by all things historical
and has found her niche writing romance, ranging from contemporary, paranormal
and a foray into steampunk, where strong heroines and brooding heroes fight
together to make their alternative world a better place!
Her debut full length novel, Holiday Affair, a contemporary romance set in the South Pacific
was released as part of Entangled Publishing’s Indulgence line in March and has
been a best seller on both Amazon and Barnes and Noble. The sequel Italian Affair is currently in edits.
Watch out for the story of Tom and Brianna, the sex therapist who spices up his
life! Outback Affair will follow soon.
Winter of the Passion Flower was released early in 2012. The second book in the sereis Summer
of the Moon Flower will be released on 21st December. Check out
the adventures of Sofia and her Scottish laird.
Annie is already looking forward to the rest
of the series, particularly the adventures of Indigo’s four boys: Jago and
Jory, Ruan and Kit. Strong sassy heroines and rebellious heroes have a
rollicking good time as they work to make the world a better place--albeit
their own steampunk world.
Blind Lust, a paranormal novella was released in June 2012.
Annie has recently been contracted for more books with
Entangled Publishing- first up is a romantic suspense called A Passionate Deal
Annie lives with her husband, and ‘Bob’ the dog and two
white cats, in a house next to the beach in a small coastal town of New South
Wales. Their two children are grown and married and she loves spending time
gardening, walking on the beach and spoiling her two grandchildren.
