#TantalizingTuesday The Eyes

200 words, a picture of your choice and the sky's not even the limit...

Clear blue eyes. Watching. Staring.

Seeing into his soul.

"I'm waiting." The soft voice echoed around the room. It danced on the motes of dust that glittered in the soft sunlight, and caught the breeze that tossed the words into the air.

"Are you ready?"

Was he?

"It's now or never Niven. Our time has come. Will you stay or will you renege? Do you have faith in your convictions or do you think so little of them you're going to run?" The voice dropped even lower. "Or is it me you don't trust? Me who is the weak link? Me who isn't enough?"

"No." His voice was loud in the quiet room. How could he convince her. "No, never you never that. I'm just a stupid man thats all. You know..." He shrugged, even though she wouldn't see. "I'm ready."

"Oh so good." Her voice took on a purring tone. exciting, enticing and all woman who knew...

Her eyes closed briefly. "Later..."

The screen went blank.

He grinned, closed  Skype down and shut his lap top. He adjusted his bowtie, picked up his top hat, checked his buttonhole, and went to start the rest of his life.

  2. I wasn't sure at first either, but I really liked the "fly on the wall" aspect; like we just happened to enter into this man's life unheard. You just made a voyeur of me! Now I want to know where he was going!

  5. Damn! What a disappointment. You built tension and expectations and then.. I love how you started with these lines- "The soft voice echoed around the room. It danced on the motes of dust that glittered in the soft sunlight, and caught the breeze that tossed the words into the air."
