The beautiful and talented Kathleen Grieve popped in...

I'n so glad she did. Look... She's telling us all about her muse... (and her latest book)

That is one hot cover.

And one lovely and super-talented lady.

Over to Kathleen...

What Drives My Muse~
You think I’d have a really great answer to that, but ultimately all my books have started with music.  A song gets stuck in my head and BAM! I hear voices and see people who aren’t there.  Does that make me insane?  I seriously don’t know but I do know that since my muse has been talking, I’ve been having the time of my life.  I’m a huge fan of romantic comedy.  The more outrageous, the better!  Which is where my writing leans.  I love those feel good stories that make you laugh, cry, and sigh during the same book.
Roxanne, by The Police was the song that inspired the opening scene in Dating 911, the first book in my Dating Series.  And my hero, firefighter Jett Avery was spurred on by Nickelback’s album, Dark Horse.  The more I listened, the more I wrote.
In my latest release, The Doctor’s Deception, my hero, Dr. Stone Lassiter has key memories of lost love triggered by Whitesnake’s song, Is This Love?  He has closed his heart off and completely thrown himself into his work.  This has been a way of life for him for so long, it is hard for him to see how cold and empty his life has become.  That is, until nurse Faith Daniels shows him what he has been missing.
What music inspires you to lose yourself or sparks a memory so strong you get all emotional?  One lucky commenter will be drawn at random for a $5 Evernight Publisher Gift Card.  Don’t forget to leave a valid email address.  Good Luck and thank you so much for stopping by today!

Blurb:
Hard-headed, straight-laced Dr Stone Lassiter is one heart surgeon about to lose everything he’s worked his entire career for.  He is locked in a battle of wills against the nurses of the surgical intensive care unit of Deerborne County General.  At first, the new doctor was definitely drool-worthy.  Sexy or not, the nurses have had enough!  Their secret weapon? Unsuspecting SICU nurse, Faith Daniels, a cool green-eye blonde that turns Dr. Lassiter’s head every time she’s near.   Poor Faith has the “worst luck” in drawing the short straw and is forced to work with Dr. Lassiter repeatedly. Will the nurses’ plan to have Dr. Lassiter fall in love with one of their own work in softening him toward the nursing staff? Or will the little white lie Stone tells Faith to enlist her aid to obtain his goal destroy the fragile bond of love that has developed between them?

Excerpt:
Faith moaned and woke to the constant chiming of her doorbell and pounding on the front door.  The wonderful, erotic dream of Stone painting her with melted chocolate burst.
She lifted her head and glanced at her clock. 7:00a.m. Groaning, she pulled the covers over her head and rolled onto her stomach, trying to recapture her fantasy.  Maybe whoever it was would go away if she ignored them.
Ding-dong… Ding-dong… Ding-dong…
“Oh, give it a rest already!” she yelled, climbing out of bed.  The cool morning air hit her bare legs and arms, and she shivered.
She reached the front door and yanked it open.
Stone Lassiter stood on her step, hand in air, ready to pound the unrelenting wood again.
Staring, her fogged brain tried to wake up.  Hadn’t he just been in her room?
No, that wasn’t real you nit-wit!
You!  What’s the big idea?  Do you realize how early it is?  It’s my day off!”
Not to mention, I was in the middle of the best dream of my life.

About Kathleen Grieve
