Monday with Ella Grey, The Wolf and her Mate...

Welcome to Ella Grey as she celebrates her latest release, The Wolf and her Mate, one of her great Coldwater series

Overview
All Aubrey Tull wanted to do was settle down with her mate, Liam Willingham, but he was determined to fight the mating bond. The night he left the pack destroyed a part of her, and she became determined to find out who she was without him.
University should have been a step in the right direction—but that was before her mating heat kicked in. One night out at a club with her friends brings her the unwanted attention of the Joy brothers. She ends up putting them into the hospital and gets herself behind bars.
Liam thought he was doing the right thing when he left the pack. He wasn’t good enough for Aubrey, and he didn’t expect to live through the illness that racked him. Aubrey was too young, too innocent, for that kind of burden. Now he’s recovered, but then Henri tells him she’s been arrested. Liam’s probably the last person she wants to see, but in the end he’s the only one who can help her.
Unfortunately, the Joy brothers aren’t finished with Aubrey…

Excerpt:
Liam moved his arm enough to peek out from underneath it. A man with dark red hair, almost black, stood by the door, and looked around the room in obvious disgust. The effect of being in the presence of his Alpha made his wolf cower. Being in the presence of his best friend overruled the natural urge. He readjusted his arm and closed his eyes. “How dd you find me?”
“You weren’t hiding.” Henri walked across the room, and Liam sensed the movement to take his bottle. A growl rumbled in his chest, but it was for show. If it came to a fight Henri would hand him his ass, and he knew it. “I need a fucking drink. Where do you keep them?”
“Fridge. I buy these things in bulk.” As Henri turned away, Liam risked another look at him. Another reason he couldn’t pursue Aubrey. They’d been best friends close to forever. What idiot went after his best friend’s little sister? Even when she turned eighteen? “Aren’t you on parental duty? How’s the rug-rat?” He caught the grimace which crossed his friend’s face and frowned, sitting up. “What’s wrong? Is everything okay?”
Henri didn’t say anything until he retrieved the bottle and sat down next to him with a huff. He twisted the cap off and took a long swig from it, wiping his lips with the back of his hand. “Alexa is an angel. It’s Brey who’s the problem.”
“Brey? You didn’t have twins and forget to mention it, did you?”
He shook his head. “Brey would be the name Aubrey likes to go by since you ripped her heart out and ground it into dust under your boot.” He took another drink and grimaced. “Damn, this is terrible.”
Guilt twisted in the pit of Liam’s stomach. “Nothing happened with her, Henri, I swear. No lines were crossed.” He dropped his own bottle to the ground with a thud and managed to sit up properly. “What happened?”
“She’s in jail. I’m tempted to leave her there for a bit to learn her lesson, but it would be a bad idea.”
The feeling of being buzzed faded quickly. “What happened?”
“A Sheriff Taylor called me; said she was at a club when a man tried to make a move on her. Unwanted.”
“Since when does Brey go to clubs? Why is she the one who’s in jail?”
“Because she put the man who touched her and his brother into the hospital.” Henri sounded proud before he looked a little embarrassed.

A note from an absentee blogger, and a BIG shout out for a Doris and Raven paperback

That is me lately.

I've been remiss in blogging, in fact i've been remiss in a lot of things.

I'm still not quite up to par with all things writing. Dammit, I still go to talk to Doris O'Connor before I realise I can't do that any more.

If you see my lips moving and I appear to be arguing with myself, I'm doing both her and my side of any conversation we might have had and I know the outcome. Even if I am thinking I wonder if the outcome could be diff...no, okay. I can hear her in my mind!

Before you think, oh blimey, Raven's doing a woe is me blog, no I'm not. I'm actually doing a happy dance, oohh look isn't this fab sort of post.

Because The lovely Evernight Publishing have brought out our last joint book, The Tattoo Artist's Mate in paperback. along with The Good Bad Boy, and our time slip story, The Dukes Christmas Abductions.

To say I'm excited and over the moon is an understatement. And 'Volume one'!

Luckily I do have some more ides for Bare Alley Ink and those people who visit it or work there. Watch this space.

However for now, shameless link time...

#TakeoverTuesday...on Wednesday. Where we are... Driven by Dragon Blood

Hi all and sorry for the delay. It seems blogger and I weren't on speaking terms yesterday, because for the life of me I couldn't get into it.
Today? We must have both had our first cup of coffee, because here I am.

And here is Lynn Burke and her latest book, Driven by Dragonblood, which is worth the wait

Driven by Dragonblood
Blood Born Series 3
Release Date: May 28, 2019

*WARNING: This title contains explicit sexual scenes, BDSM, and anal sex.

More dragonblood than human, Primrose Cadet yearns to find her fated mates and ease the loneliness of her secluded life. But with her beta behind psychiatric bars and the other denying his beastly nature—and hers—she’ll have to fight for them, even if it means exposing her heritage.

A manipulative voice in his head promising he can fly landed Jaxon Denham in the psych ward. Eighteen and legally allowed to finally leave his parent’s enforced prison, he searches out the golden goddess of his dreams, the one the voice within claims will give them the release they crave.

Doctor Patrick Macaire fought his inner darkness for thirty-four years, living a life of self-control and discipline to prove his sanity. When a barely legal boy and seductive siren threaten the foundation of his calm existence, he’s driven to battle the voice inside and remain untouched.

But fate is clever, and Patrick’s relentless mates won’t allow him peace, catching him up in unhuman-like passion that threatens his self-identity. Will he accept he’s an alpha dragonblood born to dominate his mates, or will his human side keep the three from fulfilling their destiny?

EXCERPT:

The second night I’d stood cloaked outside Lockwood’s eastern wing, the need to be impulsive, something I’d never dealt with before, fought my better judgment. Regardless of my beta’s mental state, I had wanted to sneak into his room and allow him to have his way with me, claim me like my inner dragon longed for.
Luckily, my ancestors had kept informative records in the cavern’s library of my sheltered upbringing, so I understood all the possible sexual positions—and means of giving pain for pleasure—as most alpha blood born were known for. Unfortunately, I had no personal knowledge of such things, and my dragon was determined to undermine my will to wait for his freedom.
My fingers ached from grasping the chain-link fence to keep my human form in place. The energy linking me to the window strengthened and pulled taut as a shadow moved into view. Even with my dragon sight, I couldn’t make out the color of his hair or eyes, but as he turned his head side to side as though seeking out where the energy attaching us came from, I took note of a strong nose and full lips, a square jaw I wanted to lick and nip with my teeth as he thrust into me.
Arousal, hot and wet, rose between my thighs, same as the previous night, and I bit my lips, my dragon’s needy growl rumbling in my chest as my beta locked his gaze on where I stood, cloaked by a dragonblood gift and darkness.
Want.
My human form wanted, too, and I swallowed as my dragon attempted to take over in a burst of golden light I quickly squashed. “Soon,” I promised with a whisper.
Through the tall, barred windows, I realized my beta’s hand moved over his body, the heat in the energy linking us rising. Did he touch himself? He propped his forehead on the window, shoulder hunched as though in pain, and again, I fought the need to shift, tear through the fence and walls to free my beta mate.
His form stiffened, and head tipped back, and the most luscious race of tingles swept through me, settling in my core.
Need.
Lower lip between my teeth, I released one hand from its hold and slid my fingertips down over the front of my leggings where I throbbed. I gasped as the feather touch grazed the hardened nub at the top of my slit, and I rubbed back up over it, my hips bucking on their own as though he thrust into me, burying against my womb.
Heat exploded like a blinding light through the energy between us, capturing my human form and my inner dragon in a euphoric race to the stars. I cried out, unable to keep my lips sealed as wave after wave rippled through my body, pulsing my pussy where his hard length ought to be.
I gasped for breath, my stare on the window as he slowly moved away from sight seconds later. Wetness coated my leggings, the sweet scent of my cum rising to fill my nose.
Please.
My dragon whimpered with the need for more, for our beta’s physical touch, but I tore myself away from the fence and focused on the motel’s room where I would plan my silent, cloaked assault on the mental hospital where one of my mates remained locked inside.
I would free him come morning—or die trying to.

#NineForTheWeekend with Beth D Carter The world of Danger and...Invincible

Hi all welcome to Nine For The Weekend, where this week, my guest is Beth D Carter with nine fantastic random facts about herself.

(I'm particularly envious this week)

2) I’ve sat on David Prowse’s lap…if you don’t recognize the name, he was the original Darth Vader. I was able to attend with him the re-release of Star Wars in 1997, when they remastered it and put it back into theaters.

3) My family moved my senior year of high school, from Missouri to Delaware. This caused me to graduate from the same high school my mother graduated from 25 years before me.

4) As a huge Sci-fi mega geek, I got the fantastic opportunity to visit Paramount Studios and explore the Star Trek Voyager set during the episode "Vis à Vis".

5) I’ve been fortunate to travel throughout Europe and have gone from Dover England to Calais France by both ferry and Eurotunnel.

6) I’ve visited New Zealand, Australia, Sweden, Finland, England, France, Germany, Belgium, Netherlands, Austria, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Italy, Monaco, Spain, and the Vatican.

7) Just to further cement my sci-fi nerdhood, my wedding anniversary will be May the 4th (be with you)!

8) I write under my name of Beth D. Carter, but I also have a super-secret penname, and combined I’ve written over sixty books (combining anothologies, novellas and full length).

9) By day I’m a pharmacy tech and have worked twenty-eight years in the medical field. I’ve been a surgical tech, a histotech, as well as a medical assistant. I write on the weekends and whenever I have a moment or two to think about what I’m working on.

I like writing about the very ordinary girl thrust into extraordinary circumstances, so my heroines will probably never be lawyers, doctors or corporate highrollers.  I try to write characters who aren't cookie cutters and push myself to write complicated situations that I have no idea how to resolve, forcing me to think outside the box.  I love writing characters who are real, complex and full of flaws, heroes and heroines who find redemption through love. I love to hear from readers so I’ve made it really easy to find me on the web:

#evernighties Family, friends and pets I've written into my books...

What's the saying? If you're not careful I'll put you in a book?

Is this where I do a wicked evil grin?

Well, maybe not. Because of course there is more than one way to put friends, family or pets into a book. And acquaintances, arch enemies or simply people who get up your nose.

Openly where they know, are happy and pleased to see you have used their names, life, jobs, characteristics and so on. (Though I'm not sure how you ask a pet...well not all of them wink)

(Pic, pinterest)

And then where you don't use their names but base someone on them. Probably unpleasant because of something they have done and this way you can vent your spleen without getting into trouble.

That is very satisfying. And doesn't get you sent to gaol because only you know that say the tall, geeky looking guy called Fred in your book is really an arsehole called something else. (and in real life might be neither tall or geeky)

With other people it can be something else. A way of saying thank you for something. Of remembering.

For instance, my book, Bombers Moon has parts based on stories my mum told me about when she as a young girl was evacuated with her employment from London to Northamptonshire. The village hops, getting locked out, the in loco parentis foreman...

Others have names of people who mean a lot to me. I'm not naming them, as I'd probably miss someone out, but they all know who they are.

My cats appear every so often, as do a mate's dogs. Now I just need to work a budgie called Pandy into one!

Happy reading,

love Raven xx

#TuesdayTakeover and this week it's Rose Wulf and Burning Midnight.

Welcome to what I hope will become a new weekly feature...
Tuesday Takeover.

This week, it's Rose Wulf and her fabulous book, Burning Midnight, the latest in her Dark Light series...

Over to you, Rose...

Hi, Raven! Thanks so much for inviting to be here today!

To those who don’t know me, I’m Rose Wulf, paranormal romance author. I’ve got three on-going series’ and presently two standalone short stories (with another coming soon!).

Today Raven has invited me to talk about the latest installment of my Dark Light series, Burning Midnight. It’s book three in the series and follows the story of the third major character from the previous book, Sparks of Blue. The Dark Light series is about a never-ending war between demons and angels – and the one thing more powerful than all of them: love.
Burning Midnight is Gwen’s story.

Blurb:
Gwen Manning was a survivor. With the birthday that should have killed her nearly a year behind her, it was time to get her life together. She was still settling into her new apartment when she was visited by a demon from her past—Knox. The same Knox who’d once tried to kill her.

This time he brought a different kind of danger. The danger of searing kisses and promises of protection from a new demon who seemed to want to her dead. The more things changed, right?

Knox never thought he’d see Gwen after her curse had been healed away, let alone that he’d volunteer to be her protector when it became clear she was the target of a new, ominously powerful demonic threat. But now her life, and her body, was in his hands. If he wasn’t careful, when the dust settled, he might just have trouble letting go.

Excerpt:
Gwen stared at the spot in the sky where she’d lost track of her angel friend for several seconds, her mind reeling. The idea of being targeted by demons for a second time was both terrifying and infuriating. Speaking of infuriating. She spun on her heel and planted her hands on her hips, squaring her glare on Knox. “You have some explaining to do, pal. What happened to laying low? Was that just a bunch of crap? If you knew I had another target on my head, you should’ve said something! What the hell’s going on?”
Knox tucked his hands into his pockets as a slow grin tipped the corners of his lips. “Ah, there’s the girl I remember. Asks a million questions a minute and never seems to process the danger she’s actually in.”
Gwen stomped up to him until she was as in his face as she could be, what with her five-foot-six stature not quite matching his six-something. “I can’t process anything without all the answers, jerk. So talk.”
Not only did he not back away, but the grin on his lips reflected in his eyes as Knox leaned in until their noses were a hair’s breadth apart. “Oh, I’m a jerk again, huh?” He lifted one hand and trailed his knuckles oh-so-lightly along the curve of her cheek in a lingering caress. “For what, not taking the risk of needlessly worrying you?” He leaned closer, his lips brushing her ear now. “Or for waking up your desires?”
She bit back an instinctive moan. Damn him and his tempting touch and toe-curling kisses. Damn her for letting those things get to her. “Neither,” she finally managed, keeping her hands locked at her sides. “For lying to me.”
Knox sighed and straightened, his raised hand falling to his side as he searched her eyes. “It was only a partial lie,” he said. “I pretty much always have to lay low these days. I just exaggerated the urgency. And I picked you specifically because I had a strong suspicion that someone from down below was coming after you. A suspicion, nothing concrete.”
Scrunching her lips as she thought over his response, Gwen asked, “Who? Why?”
“From what I can gather,” Knox replied, “chances are it’s the demon who expected to have inherited your soul by now. Demons are egotistical, angry, vain creatures. Not receiving his prize was bad enough, but to have the curse healed away by a Nephilim, and thereby the intended soul purified, would be too big an insult to ignore. If he—or she—simply let it go, their reputation would crumble. Probably in their opinion, you already belong to them.”
“I don’t belong to anybody,” Gwen declared, crossing her arms stubbornly. The curse had been bad enough. A situation she’d never had the chance to control in the first place. But now this? Being targeted over a bruised ego? That was just ridiculous.
Knox held up a hand as if to ward her off. “I’m not saying otherwise,” he assured her. “I’m giving you my best attempt at insight into the enemy’s reasons.”
Sighing, Gwen dropped her arms again. “Fine. But who is this ‘enemy’?” Knox had very specifically not told her that detail. And in her opinion, it was a largely important one.
Huffing out his own breath of irritation, Knox said, “Hell if I know. I haven’t been able to get a name, or even a narrowed down list.” He refocused his stare on hers, somehow holding her gaze to his without a touch. “But whoever it is, Gwen, they’re bad news. They’ve got reach. We don’t want to wait for their final play.”
Gwen’s stomach lurched at the intensity of his warning. She definitely didn’t want someone like that in her business. Really ever. With a heavy swallow, she asked, “What am I supposed to do, then? Move to Mars?”
The corners of his lips twitched with amusement and he shook his head. “I’d actually recommend Saturn, but let’s save that for Plan B.” But she could see on his face that the real answer wasn’t nearly so simple.
“So I’m running again,” Gwen muttered, not so much as a question but as a statement of defeat. It was the last thing she wanted to do. Well, of the things she was willing to do. “Goodbye new apartment. Farewell, new job. Sayonara stability.”
“Never pegged you for a drama queen.”
Gwen blinked, realizing she’d been blankly staring off into the distance, and narrowed her eyes up at Knox. She opened her mouth to tell him off but caught herself. Yeah, sure, it sucked. A lot. And she was sure that before everything was settled—and assuming she survived—she’d have to start all over again. Sort of. She also had friends, and Ben, and she’d pulled her shit together before, so surely she could do it again when the time came. And who knows, maybe this won’t completely destroy my new attempt at a responsible adult life. So instead of telling off the annoyingly perceptive demon, she sighed. “Next time I do that, just shake me or something.”
A flash of a grin lit his eyes before he caught her jaw beneath two curled fingers and captured her mouth with his. He nibbled on her lips, slipped his tongue inside, and sucked on hers long and slow. Her knees nearly gave out as she reflexively caught herself by grabbing hold of the sides of his shirt.
He released her lips before she could gather herself enough to reciprocate and, lips teasing the underside of her jaw on the way to her ear, whispered, “Kissing you is so much more fun.”

About Rose:
Rose Wulf is a giant romance fangirl. Hot, protective, sometimes downright barbaric heroes and spitfire heroines are her favorites. Rose has been writing for as long as she can remember, and over the years she’s only grown fonder of it. The bonds between characters have always captivated her and as an author those are Rose’s favorite things to play with – not always to the relief of her fictional babies!
Behind the scenes Rose is a quiet personality. She enjoys spending her non-writing time with her German Shepherd, Shadow, her mom, and her friends. Be it a fun game of Cards Against Humanity or a relaxing movie night, Rose believes everything is better with company. As for her own romance, she’s still searching for her hero (and hoping that, when she does find him, he’ll be willing to cook!).
